A Note From the Stewardship Commission

Dear Supporters of St. Paul’s,

The coming year, 2008, is an important transition year for St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and your support for our parish is needed more than ever before.

On behalf of the Vestry, we invite you to join us as we are Moving Forward Together into a new year with a new rector. Despite the turbulent times in both the diocese and global church, we remain united in our support for the mission of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.

Because your time, talent, and treasure are needed here at St. Paul’s, we encourage you to fill out the enclosed form and return it quickly in the envelope that is already stamped for your convenience. The form asks you to indicate ways in which you are involved (or wish to become involved) at St. Paul’s. If you return this form by November 11, you will receive a special 2008 Episcopal Calendar with the image of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church imprinted on it.

The Stewardship Commission has set an ambitious goal of $650,000 for 2008, a 10% increase over last year. With our rector search successfully completed and new challenges ahead, we need every parishioner and supporter to rethink his or her pledge level. Will you think seriously about increasing your pledge by 10%? For most people, that’s less than $5 a week. And, this year, we have enclosed an Electronic Funds Transfer form so that you can have monthly pledges automatically deducted from your bank account, if you wish. Everyone will continue to get offering envelopes, as well, for those special occasions.

Last year, around 260 families/individuals submitted pledge cards. This year, our goal is to identify 300 families/individuals who will pledge to keep St. Paul’s Moving Forward Together. If you did not pledge in 2007, will you consider doing so in 2008? Knowing the overall dollars coming in is the best way to develop a comprehensive budget for all the good things that St. Paul’s does.

Sunday, October 14, is Stewardship Sunday where we will have a continental breakfast at 9:15 am to unveil the Moving Forward Together initiative and answer your questions. Please join us for this important event.

We hope you will read carefully the enclosed material, and then join us in Moving Forward Together to keep St. Paul’s Episcopal Church spiritually strong, financially healthy, and community involved in the year ahead.

Sincerely,

Jon Delano Pat Eagon Stafford Jim Frantz
