Dr. Starr has been organist and choirmaster at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Mt. Lebanon, PA since 1993. A graduate of the Ohio State University with degrees in vocal performance and theory-composition, he has taught music at Westminster College, Kenyon College, Central Michigan University, and for eleven years was director of choral activities at Bellarmine College in Louisville, KY. Dr. Starr has received many significant awards and recognition for scholarly activity and musical achievement. He was a University Fellow while at Ohio State, a Mellon Fellow at Vanderbilt University in 1983, and in 1988, an American Council on Education Fellow in higher education leadership issues. He is an active composer of sacred and secular choral music, published with Beckenhorst, Lawson-Gould, G.I.A.
