Election of the 8th Bishop of Pittsburgh
Election of the 8th Bishop of Pittsburgh
We are very pleased to announce that the Rev. Dorsey W. M. McConnell has been elected the 8th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh by the lay and clergy deputies meeting in the Special Convention of the Diocese held this day at Trinity Cathedral. Dorsey currently serves as Rector of the Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Assuming approval this summer by the General Convention of the Episcopal Church, he will be consecrated Bishop on October 20, 2012 at Calvary Episcopal Church in East Liberty. Please keep Dorsey and his wife Betsy in your prayers as they prepare for this major transition in their lives.
Thanks be to God for the work of the Nominating Committee and for the willingness of all of the Nominees to offer themselves up for service in our Diocese. Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
