12^th Night and Epiphany Eve Celebration!

Dinner, light parade and joyful worship!

Join us for a 12th Night Celebration (the last night of Christmas) and Epiphany Eve worship service on Wednesday, January 5 at 6:30 p.m. The Feast of the Epiphany is a major day in our liturgical calendar, so we will close out Christmas and enter into the Season of Epiphany with dinner, a parade of lights, and a joyful service! Bring the family for this child-friendly dinner and worship service that will conclude around 8:15 p.m.

for a screening of the documentary ‘Fresh’

FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system.  Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity.  Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet.

Among several main characters, FRESH features urban farmer and activist, Will Allen, a 2008 recipient of the MacArthur “genius” grant and recently named one of Time’s 100 most influential people; sustainable farmer and entrepreneur Joel Salatin, made famous by The Omnivore’s Dilemma, the best-selling book by Michael Pollan, who is also featured in the movie; and, Kansas City supermarket owner David Ball, who is challenges our Wal-Mart-dominated economy every day by stocking his stores with products from local suppliers.

The November Friends of Music Guild Concert is a Jazz concert and you won’t want to miss it. On Sunday, November 13 at 3:00 p.m. the Lee Robinson Quartet performs a concert entitled, Voice and Spirit. It features Lee Robinson, sax; Anqwenique Winfield, vocals; Paul Thompson, bass; Joe Sheehan, piano; and Ryan Socrates, drums. The music includes Classical Arias fused with jazz! The program also includes some young jazz artists, students of Lee Robinson. Suggested donation at the door is $10, $5 for students.   

Even if you haven’t attended church yet this fall, it’s never too late for your child to start Sunday School! Please fill in the Sunday School  Registration form and bring it with your child on their first day of class.

Education for Ministry

The Education for Ministry (EFM) program at St. Paul’s is forming at St. Paul’s but we need one more person to join. Are you that person? If you are interested in digging deeper into your Christian faith, studying the Bible, church history and theology and reflecting on how your faith connects with your life experiences, then EFM is for you.
