The Rev. Kristian Opat came to St. Paul’s in August 2008. He was ordained to the Sacred Order of the Priesthood in December of 2008 during the Special Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh that was held at St. Paul’s. His focus at St. Paul’s is assisting in the weekly worship, giving support and care to the young adults of the community, and organizing the Adult Education Hour on Sunday mornings. Kris grew up in Bethel Park where his parents still reside. After graduating from Bethel Park High School, Kris attended Grove City College and graduated in May 2002 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then moved to Pittsburgh, and currently lives in Lawrenceville. Prior to his call at St. Paul’s, Kris was the Deacon with a small congregation called Three Nails. He worked with the small groups, which were the lifeblood of the congregation, and led the worship on Sunday afternoons. Kris is very pleased to have the opportunity to worship with and to serve the congregation at St. Paul’s. |
