The Rev. Mabel M. Fanguy joined the staff at St. Paul’s as the Interim Rector for Pastoral Care in July of 2009 and was offered a permanent position in that role in January 2010. Called to the Priesthood while living in Louisiana, Mabel was ordained to the priesthood in September of 1999. Prior to ordination Mabel was active in a variety of church activities including prison ministry, hospital chaplaincy, food banks, ministry to the homeless, and Stephen’s Ministry. She loves teaching, preaching, liturgy, music and pastoral care. She comes to us after serving for five years as Rector at the small Parish of St. Thomas in Canonsburg. During the intervening years between her position at St. Thomas and the start of her ministry at St. Paul’s, Mabel has ministered to the many needs and concerns of the public, while working at a part-time position in customer service.

Mabel resides with her husband of 23 years, David. They have three children, the oldest two are in their final year at College. Christopher attends St. Peters College in N.J. Shelly attends Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. Their youngest, Andrew is a Junior at Gateway High School.

Mabel hopes to share her joy and passion for the Gospel of Christ with the people of St. Paul’s.
