Vestry Candidate Forum
Please join us on Sunday, February 5 after the 8:45 and 10:45 a.m. services to meet the slate of Vestry candidates for 2012. Each candidate will answer one or two questions from the moderator and then address any questions that you may have. We have a talented group of parishioners who are willing to serve, so please come and hear what they have to say so that you are an informed voter on February 12. Thanks to all of our candidates for their interest in serving the parish.

He will continue to discuss the wonderful world of Harry Potter through the lens of the Christian gospel. Previous knowledge of the world of Harry Potter is helpful, but not necessary.

Isaiah 40:21-31, Psalm 147:1-12, 21c, 1Corinthians 9:16-23, Mark 1:29-39
Are you or your child on a Gluten Free Diet? St. Paul’s is accommodating those with this special dietary need by providing gluten free wafers. Please let one of the clergy know if you require these special wafers.
Refuge Volunteer Help
Refuge needs your help! There is a lot of time that goes into set-up and tear down of the Refuge service and we are looking for some more volunteers. We have a great core team of volunteers, but we need help. We have started setting up most Sundays immediately after the 10:45 service. If you are a 10:45 worshipper please consider signing up to help set up once or twice a month. It is about a 45 minute commitment each week. If you are interested, please contact the Rev. Kris McInnes (412.531.7153 or kris@stpaulspgh.org).
Music Notes Christ’s healing gifts are substance of this week’s and next week’s lessons, healing from disease, the pain and affliction of human sin. You may find this week’s music both soothing and effusive. The lovely Bach Air at the prelude and Mendelssohn’s aria from Elijah, O Rest in the Lord, represent the former. Quiet music lowers the blood pressure and put our spirits at rest. God speaks to us in the quiet. Music that is more stirring will be heard at the anthem, Charpentier’s Laudate Dominum, and our rousing Recessional hymn, O for as thousand tongues to sing! God also speaks to us from the fire of a burning bush! Director of Music and Arts
