COVID-19 Fund Disbursement
Spring is definitely in full bloom in western PA – trees are flowering, birds are buzzing around, we are able to meet again in person for worship; there are so many reasons to feel hopeful! One of those reasons is the fact that many in our community have received the COVID-19 vaccine, with that number increasing daily. As we continue to march toward herd immunity, we are also aware of the many ways that the pandemic has caused persistent disruption and difficulties for many of our city’s most vulnerable people. With that in mind, St. Paul’s Outreach Commission has made another disbursement of funds from our COVID-19 Fund to organizations that are specifically addressing community needs head on. The Vestry approved a disbursement of $15,000 in total to the following organizations:
Casa San Jose
Hello Neighbor
PRYSE Academy through the Alliance for Refugee Youth Support and Education (ARYSE)
South Hills Food Pantry
412 Food Rescue
Jubilee Kitchen
Trinity Walk In
Shepherd’s Heart
Shepherd’s Wellness
St John’s 2021 Summer Food Program
Thank you to everyone who has donated to this fund over the past year. This disbursement brings our total donations from the COVID-19 Fund to $60,000 since its inception. It has been one of the most tangible ways that we as a parish have been able to love our neighbors during this pandemic. I am so grateful to all of you who have made that expression of love possible!
Warmest regards,
Andrea Kamouyerou
