This summer, St. Paul’s will be welcoming two interns, Mia Benjamin and Jack Brownfield. Mia will be serving full time May 21-July 22 as our “Summer Pastoral Assistant.” Jack will be serving about 10 hours a week, June 3 - August 31 as our “Summer Intern.”
Mia Benjamin is a seminarian at Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA and is currently a candidate for the priesthood through the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. Mia served for two years as an Life Together Episcopal Service Corps intern at her sponsoring parish, Grace Episcopal Church in Medford, MA. Mia's experiences there and at her field education parish, St. Aidan's, San Francisco, opened her the power of relationship-building and deeply incarnational approaches to ministry. Mia and her fiance, Aaron, are both graduates of Middlebury College, VT where they will be getting married in July. Mia loves knitting stuffed animals, playing board games, learning from children, and giving her dog, Remy, belly rubs. She is excited to learn what God is up to at St. Paul's! She will be preaching, joining with our clergy in providing Pastoral Care, teaching a class on Wednesday evenings in June on Storytelling serving in other ways. You can reach her at [email protected] or 412-531-7153 x 35.
Jack Brownfield just finished his sophomore year at Georgetown University, majoring in English and Government with a Theology minor. He has been coming to St. Paul’s with his family all his life. During college he attends services at several Episcopal churches in Washington. He is also involved in debate groups, and the Bipartisan Coalition, and sings in a choir on campus. He is excited to intern at St. Paul’s and learn more about how the parish operates. He will be assisting on Sundays, attending Staff meeting, leading a group with Garrett in July, preaching once this summer and serving in other various ways.
Welcome Jack and Mia!!
