I want to provide an exciting updated regarding our COVID-19 Response Fund. To date we have raised over $45,000 dollars for this fund. The Outreach Commission has continually been focused on helping to meet community needs during this unprecedented time, especially needs around food insecurity as a result of, or exacerbated by the pandemic. Over the past couple weeks, the Outreach Commission has recommended to the Vestry to give an additional $20,000 in financial gifts from the COVID-19 Response Fund to organizations focused on addressing food insecurity in the communities around us. The Vestry quickly approved the recommendation, and those checks are being sent out this week! This is an amazing display of our faith community’s commitment to serve those in need and help to equip local organizations for the important work they are doing. The organizations who will receive this second round of funding are described below (some received funding in the first round a couple months ago). Thank you, as always, to all of you who have donated your time, your talent and your treasure to the work that God is calling us to as a parish in caring for those around us. Together, we are sharing God’s heart, standing up for the least of these, and offering hope in a time that so desperately needs it.
