We are gearing up to get started on what should be a fun and faith-filled program year. Registration is off to a terrific start but guess what? Not everybody is registered yet, so here’s the link!
It’s really important to sign your kids up because when you do, you are added to my email list. I use that list to send out information on upcoming events—sign up so you don’t miss anything!
Below is the calendar for September and October. Please take a minute and review it—hey, you can even print it out and hang it on your refrigerator. Make sure to highlight those days that we don’t have regularly scheduled programming due to other things happening.
Here are some highlights:
Sunday, September 8th will be our All Parish Brunch and Program Year Kickoff. Between the two services we will have breakfast sandwiches provided by our 9th grade confirmation class (thanks, guys!) and near the end of the hour, we will “break” to our classrooms to meet teachers and classmates.
Later, at 5pm on Sunday September 8th, we will have our Annual Youth Group Kick-Off Picnic. Join us in St. Margaret’s Garden for a picnic and also to meet the individuals who will be teaching confirmation class this year.We will be getting the group together at the end to talk about what this year will look like, because as you all know, it’s looking different than it has in the past! We hope that this will be a terrific year for the youth at St. Paul’s. If you have any ideas or suggestions along the way, please let Kristen know!
Christin Cooper will be having a Children’s Choir Open House on Sunday, September 29th at 10:45am. Do you have a child who might like to sing in the choir? This is a great opportunity for your family to check it out.
October 6th we will be Blessing the Animals for the Feast of St. Francis. There are no Sunday morning formation programs that day but bring your cat, dog, bunny, hamster, iguana, or stuffed friends to receive a special blessing.(NOTE:There is an outreach project scheduled for 6th through 9th grade confirmation class members that evening—more information about that as we get started on Sunday nights.)
Something new is coming for families on Friday, October 25th from 6pm to 8pm—we are going to have a “Jammies and Movies” night for families. We will clear out the back of the undercroft and make room for blankets and pillows and pajama’d kids, and we’ll pull down the big screen for a child-friendly movie and popcorn.Ideas for a movie?Send them to Kristen!
The following Sunday afternoon, Sunday October 27th at 1pm, is our annual youth trip to the pumpkin farm—more details to follow as the time gets closer!
I’m excited to get started and to see all the kids at church again—if you have any questions, comments, suggestions…..please don’t hesitate to reach out. We hope that this is a wonderful year for our kids, our youth, and our families!
Blessings to Everyone,
