This Summer, we will offer two Mission Trips to Southern West Virginia.
Since 2012, St. Paul's youth have served with ministries in Mercer and McDowell Counties in West Virginia. Projects range from home repair, to hunger initiatives, all coordinated by local individuals and organizations. Our current partners include Christ Episcopal Church in Bluefield, West Virginia, First Presbyterian, the Bluefield Union Mission, and the Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Bank.
This year, we are also offering an opportunity for adults to serve in this community.
Our Youth Summer Mission Trip will be held from Sunday, June 16, through Saturday, June 22. Mission Trip is open to all high school age youth (including current 8th graders who will be entering 9th grade in fall 2019). We also need adult chaperones. Our youth and chaperones spend a week, living in community and working on a variety of sites.
The Adult Mission Team has scheduled our mission trip for Sunday, June 23, through Saturday, June 29. We will be volunteering at 2 major missions in the area and performing small home repairs. Unlike the youth mission trip (which features dormitory-style accommodations and shared meals), on this trip missioners arrange their own meals and lodging at local restaurants and hotels. All adults and teenagers with a parent are welcome to join in this important ministry.
