Winter Festival Celebrating Our Refugee Friends
Sunday February 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Undercroft - St. Paul's Refugee Committee and friends will be sponsoring a Winter Festival, an event to celebrate with the refugee families with whom we work through the resettlement agency, NAMS, our volunteers and committee members. A simple meal will provided. There will be games and crafts led by youth and adults, as well as wonderful opportunities for fellowship with our friends and neighbors. We are looking for volunteers of all ages to serve as hosts and hostesses to reach out and welcome our guests to this event. If you are interested, please contact Bernadette (“Rini”) Choura, [email protected], Kerry McGee, [email protected], or Paula Hopkins, [email protected] Thanks!

Help With Homework!
As you know, St. Paul's has become closely connected to several local refugee families who have recently resettled into our communities. It has become clear that SHIM in the Prospect Park area of Baldwin provides invaluable service to many of these families. SHIM is in need of volunteers to help with one of their many programs, the 'after school Middle and High School help sessions.' This would be a wonderful opportunity for St. Paul's members to work with these students from a variety of countries who struggle with homework mainly because they haven't learned enough English to understand the assignments. If interested, please contact Ginny Barnicoat for more information.
