1. How to Get Started with Sacred Ground led by Carolyn Cornelius and Preston Shimer: Sacred Ground is a 10-part film and readings-based dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. The curriculum is part of the Episcopal church’s long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation and social justice. Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America’s history of race and racism, while weaving in threads of family story, economic class and political and regional history. Workshop participants will learn how to begin to organize and launch Sacred Ground circles in their own parish communities.

2. Bishop Barbara Harris Depicted in a Lesson from Godly Play led by Alexis Sheehan and Kristen Morgan: Come explore the Godly Play story about Bishop Barbara Harris. Godly Play nurtures the spiritual lives of children and families through story, wonder and play. Learn more about how Godly Play stories have evolved to include civil rights icons in the church and how you can use storytelling to share the love of God with your congregation.
3. “So I’m in a small church, what can we do?” led by Melanie Sprenkel: Melanie will share the story of what she and St. Stephen’s, Wilkinsburg, have done over the years and explore simple ideas and opportunities that will make a difference in your community over time.
4. The Experience of Being “Other” in Pittsburgh led by the Rev. Canon Eric McIntosh: You are invited to hear stories of how the other “Others” experience life as a person of color in their contexts. The Beloved Community Initiative is welcoming members of the Asian American community to share with us all their experience. You are invited to love them by taking first steps to know them by hearing their stories.
