Angel Tree Project We are supporting many local ministries this year who are facing unprecedented challenges due to COVID-19, including SHIM, Casa San Jose, Jeremiah’s Place, Trinity Walk-in Ministry, Hello Neighbor, the refugee families supported by St. Paul’s parishioners, and a local organization caring for children currently experiencing homelessness. Advent Yoga Begins Sunday, November 29 at 5 p.m. Join us for a special Advent yoga series! Advent is a season of watching, and waiting and yoga offers us the opportunity to be introspective and consider how we move through periods of uncertainty and anticipation. These yoga classes will offer gentle movement and space to reflect and be still in a season that is often characterized by busyness. These classes will offer modifications for all levels. Whether you have a lot of experience with yoga or are curious to try it for the first time, you are welcome to roll out a mat (or a towel!) at home and join us. Classes will meet Nov. 29, Dec 6, 13 & 20 at 5 p.m. Watch for the link in the weekly email!
Beer, Pop, Juice & Carols is Friday, December 4 at 7 p.m. The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!" Don your ugliest Christmas sweater, pour a glass of beer, pop, or juice and join us on Zoom at 7 PM on Friday, December 4th. We will sing carols, enjoy our favorite beverages, and compete in contests guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit. It will be a fun night for the whole family! We are asking participants to sign up to lead a carol from THIS LIST, as we all sing along from our own homes. Song lyric sheets will be provided for all and sheet music can be provided upon request. Advent Lessons & Music is Sunday, December 13 at 10:45 a.m. During the seasons of Advent and Christmas we will twice worship in the context of the distinct liturgy called, “Lessons and Music.” These liturgies will be delivered in what we call “collaborative worship;” musicians, readers and speakers contributing from their homes and, God willing, organ and handbell music with musicians from the church. The Service of the Word will be Lessons and Music, seven scripture readings followed by seasonal music and hymns, immediately followed by the Service of the Eucharist.
Songs of the Season: Sunday, December 13 at 4 p.m. St. Paul's Church & Nursery School invite you and your family to a zoom singalong. This special event will feature songs of the season, a craft, a lighting of the Advent wreath and maybe even a special appearance by Santa! Lyrics and needed materials will be distributed by December 10. You won't want to miss it!
Blue Christmas is December 16 at 7 p.m. on Zoom! In addition to being a time of joy, the Christmas season for some can also be a time of feelings of sadness and loss. This Christmas will look different because of the pandemic, and this brings a a new form of grief for many. The Blue Christmas service is a time to mark these complicated feelings and bring them before God. This service is a service of lament, healing, light and hope. This service will be planned and led by our Stephen's Ministers and our Assistant Rector and held over Zoom. We hope you will join us and invite your friends and family.
