"The vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property ... Vestry members are usually elected at the annual parish meeting. The presiding officer of the vestry is the rector. There are usually two wardens. The senior warden leads the parish between rectors and is a support person for the rector. The junior warden often has responsibility for church property and buildings. A treasurer and a secretary or clerk may be chosen ... The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church's mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances."
At St. Paul's, twelve lay members of the parish have been elected at our Annual Meetings to serve as members of the Vestry for a term of three years (on a rotating basis). Get to know our current Vestry below, and say hello the next time you see them!

Pat has been a member of St. Paul’s since 2002. She served on vestry previously (2006-11) as secretary, chair of Outreach, and member of other commissions. She is currently in her second year of vestry membership, serving as secretary of the Vestry and chair of the Outreach Commission. She is also a member of the diocesan Social Justice and Outreach Committee, where she is the coordinator of the Garden Grants Program.
My family and I have been at St. Paul's for 25 years. I have served in many ways, including usher corps leader, usher captain, LEM, lector and am a member of the Men's Group. On the Vestry, I am currently the Treasurer and have served in that role for many years, but have also been Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Stewardship co-chair and Fellowship co-Chair.
Children & Youth
Ginny is happy to be back in her childhood church home after 20 years living in Maryland. She is beginning her second year on the vestry and leads the Children and Youth Commission. Ginny teaches 2nd grade Sunday School and is a life-skills volunteer with a local refugee family.
I have served St. Paul’s Vestry as part of the Stewardship commission; and helped to facilitate a new phone directory. My background is in children’s ministry, and I continue to support these ministries by sharing resources from the broader church. I work in church communications, with a focus on digital ministry, so I also support the St. Paul’s communications staff as needed.

Jon Delano grew up at St. Paul's, and is now serving his third stint on Vestry. He is currently senior warden, which involves him in most aspects of the church, but his particular interests have been in Worship (where he coordinates the Lay Eucharistic Ministers & Readers), in St. Paul's growing role as a source of Diocesan leadership and greater community outreach, and in restructuring St. Paul's governance systems for the 21st century.
