A Letter to the Parish from the Stewardship Committee & Sundae Sunday!

Dear St. Paul’s Community,

We are in the home stretch of our 2021 Stewardship Campaign and we are once again filled with gratitude seeing the generous outpouring of support from the St. Paul’s community. Our World Has Changed, but our commitment to our church, our clergy and staff, and our community outreach efforts is as strong as ever.

On behalf of the Stewardship Committee, I want to say thank you to all those individuals and families that have already submitted their pledge cards for the upcoming year. Each pledge not only provides the support St. Paul’s will need to continue its work in 2021, but it provides essential guidance to the Vestry and Finance Commission as they work together to develop the 2021 budget.

To those who have not pledged yet or never pledged before, there is still time, and every contribution is truly and sincerely appreciated. If you click here, you will be taken to the Stewardship web page. Here you can view the stewardship testimonial videos put together by members of our community showing the range and depth of experiences of those that call St. Paul’s home. Then, after prayerful consideration, please consider clicking here to make your pledge for 2021.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with any member of the Vestry, or with Noah (412.531.7153 ext. 11 or [email protected]). If you need any assistance with technical issues for online payments, contact Monica Miller, Financial Administrator (412.531.7153 ext. 17 or [email protected]).

Finally, we will wrap up the Stewardship Campaign next weekend on Sunday, November 22nd with a special treat–Sundae Sunday (see announcement below for more details)!!! Following our Facebook Live 10:45am worship service, we invite you to “drive through or stop by “the St. Paul’s parking lot and enjoy a tasty ice cream treat from Betsy’s Ice Cream truck! The truck will be in the lot from 12pm to 2pm.

With love and gratitude,

John Sheehan
Stewardship Committee, Co-Chair

Let’s Kick Off Advent with Sundae Sunday, November 22nd, from 12pm to 2pm in the St. Paul’s Parking Lot!

It’s Sundae Sunday!!! Our stewardship campaign comes to a close on Sunday, November 22nd, and what better way to celebrate than with the Betsy’s Ice Cream truck?? Following our Facebook Live 10:45am worship service, we invite you to “drive through or stop by “the St. Paul’s parking lot and enjoy a tasty ice cream treat from Betsy’s Ice Cream truck. The truck will be in the lot from 12pm to 2pm. All attendees should wear masks and socially distance. Obviously, eating ice cream does involve taking masks off. At that point, we would ask family groups to “extra socially distance” from other family groups while masks are off.

Advent Wreath Making The First Sunday of Advent is the following week!! Are you ready? One of the most fun ways to get ready is to make an Advent Wreath! We’ll have wreath forms, sets of candles, ribbon, floral wire, and instructions all ready to go. We are asking for a $10 donation per packet. You can make your donation here.

Angel Tree Project Our Angel Tree project will be kicking off this very same Sunday, with a tree and tags in the parking lot. There will be an online Angel Tree option as well– more information will be coming soon!

Advent devotionals will also be available for pickup! Savor and steep your Advent journey in the Word of God. Each day this devotional offers a brief scripture reading, a reflection, and a prayer which offers an opportunity to pause, wait, and watch for the Christ child.

Bishop Visitation November 22nd is also the Bishop’s visit. Bishop McConnell will preside over the 10:45am Facebook Live worship service. The confirmands and those being received will be “zoomed in” to the service and will meet with the Bishop in person via appointment from 12pm to 2pm. If you see our 9th grade confirmation students, or our adults being received into the Episcopal Church leaving the building while you are in the parking lot, make sure to wave and say congratulations!
