Celebrate Christmas with St. Paul’s!
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” (John 1:5)
Christmas always comes during the darkest week of the year. Right now, there seems to be so much darkness in our world. War and conflict in the Middle East and Ukraine, hate-based violence on the rise in our nation. And many of us struggle with tragic losses, grief and addiction in our own lives and families. We may ask, is there any light at all?
Yes! There is light. This is the story of Christmas, the story of God’s light coming into the world through the life of a vulnerable human child, born of a poor family in a stable in the out-of-the-way town of Bethlehem. This life is the light that pushes back the shroud of darkness that threatens to engulf our world. St. Paul’s seeks to be a part of this light – joining with our Jewish and Muslim neighbors for fellowship and education, serving those in need through our many outreach projects, and ministering to the joys and tragedies that happen in the lives of members of our community.
Together, we are a part of the story of God’s limitless and unfailing love. A light of hope – hope that what we do, and who we are, can and does make a difference.
